Tear all the leaves off your lilies so you have nice clean stems. Take a length of river cane or bamboo pole to run up the center for stability. Lily stems can bend, and we want them nice and straight. Arrange a full bunch of lilies around the pole, keeping your stems very straight. If some of your blooms are more open than others, place them toward the outer edge of the design. Create as uniform and round a shape as you can. Don’t worry if most of your blooms aren’t open yet—as they start to open they’ll push each other down, and gravity will help give you more of a ball shape.
